![]() Those three companies were (because NO Squiers have been made in Korean since 1999) Young Chang (the worst, used Plywood bodies), Cor-Tek (AKA Cort = crap), Saehan (made those great Vester electrics in the 80's and 90's, also renown for their Acoustics) and Samick (yea, you know that name - great guitars).ĭepending on the manufacturer, Korean guitars - mostly from the 1990's - are great guitars, nearly on par with the Japanese Squiers of the 1980's (highly sought after and selling in the near Grand$ range now.) There were four Korean companies that made guitars for Squier (not Squire) "by Fender", because just like Apple who makes nothing (everything has been out-sourced since 1979), Fender only owns the US and Mex factories. You can tell both of these things just from the serial number.
